American Literary Translators Association (ALTA)

Tucson, AZ

The American Literary Translators Association (ALTA) seeks support to bring Norwegian poet Kristin Berget and her translator Kathleen Maris Paltrineri to the keynote address at ALTA’s 48th literary translation conference held November 5-8, 2025, in Tucson, AZ.

The keynote will be open to the public which will include the Tucson local and university communities that have according to the applicant a strong appetite for poetry.

Boston Symphony

Boston, MA

The Boston Symphony Orchestra seeks travel support to bring Finnish conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen to Tanglewood in July 2025, where he will lead an open rehearsal and performance of two works by Sibelius including his Violin Concerto with Pekka Kuusisto as the soloist as well as a concert with young musicians of Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra.

These events are expected to reach over 6,000 attendees and extend their impact through regional public radio broadcasts and online streaming, making world-class music accessible to diverse audiences across the Northeast.

Bøes Film

Siljan, Norway

Norwegian actress and filmmaker Jeanne Bøe will partner with Norway House in Minneapolis to present her short film Oxblood—a heartfelt story about family, resilience, and life on a Norwegian farm.

Through film screenings, Q&As, and shared storytelling about immigration and heritage, the project fosters cross-cultural connection and strengthens ties between Norwegian and American communities.

Jacob’s Pillow Dance

Becket, MA

Jacob’s Pillow will present the U.S. debut of Elle Sofe Company’s Vástádus eana – the answer is land. This performance, which will be held at the new Doris Duke Theater from July 23-27, blends Sámi dance, yoik, and Indigenous cultural traditions to explore themes of community, environmental awareness, and Indigenous connection to the land.

It will be a part of the inaugural season of programming in the new Doris Duke Theatre which will open to the public on July 9, 2025. The new 20,000 sq. ft. theater and makerspace for dance is a flexible venue on the site of the original Doris Duke Theatre.

Other Minds

San Francisco, CA

On October 17, 2025, Other Minds will present the American premiere of “Piano Piece,” composed by Norwegian composter Kristine Tjøgersen and performed by Norwegian pianist Ellen Ugelik.

This performance will be featured during the 29th annual Other Minds Festival.

Vermont Folklife

Burlington, VT

In April 2026, the Youth Tradition Touring Group, a Vermont-based ensemble of 12-19-year-olds, will travel to Denmark and Sweden.

During their travels they plan to perform their own music and participate in Scandinavian folk music workshops, masterclasses, and sessions with Scandinavian artists.

Susquehanna Folk Music Society

Etters, PA

For its 2025 World Music Concert Series, Susquehanna Folk Music Society will host a performance by American musician Bruce Molsky and Swedish musician Ale Möller.

Held at Zoetropolis Cinema Stillhouse on May 17, 2025, this concert will feature a medley of American and Nordic folk music and will be followed by a post-concert conversation offering audiences insight into the artists’ creative journeys and cross-cultural musical exchange.

Rhode Island Arts Foundation

Newport, RI

On June 13, 2025, Newport Classical will bring Trio Mediæval, a GRAMMY-nominated Norwegian vocal group, to perform at the 2025 Newport Classical Chamber Series on June 13, 2025.

During her performance, Trio Mediæval will perform an array of traditional Norwegian and Swedish songs, hymns, fiddle tunes, and ballads.

New York Scandia Symphony

New York, NY

The Write Salon and Bornholm-New York Scandinavia will host three outdoor summer concerts at the 2025 Scandinavian Music Festival. During the festival music by Scandinavian composers will be played by Scandia String Orchestra, Scandia Brass Quintet, and Scandia String Quartet.

Performance will take place at Fort Tryon Park on June 8, 15, and 22. based Association Østersø Sonics seek funding to bring two US authors to Bornholm’s 2024 Global Literature Fest on July 12-13. This year’s festival, entitled “No Place is an Island,” will be a two-day literary event, bringing international audiences and authors together
